Website Terms of Use & Legal Disclaimer
Last reviewed: 9 October 2026 · 1st Step Consulting Ltd trading as Immigration Visa Expert
Status and scope
Effective date: 9 October 2026. These Website Terms of Use govern access to and use of www.immigrationvisaexpert.com (the Website), including informational pages, articles, guides, downloadable resources and enquiry facilities. They do not by themselves appoint us as your immigration adviser or create a contract for regulated immigration advice.
The Website is operated by 1st Step Consulting Ltd trading as Immigration Visa Expert (the Firm, we, our or us), company number 14708821, registered in England and Wales, registered office 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. Contact info@immigrationvisaexpert.com. When purchasing a course, consultation or professional service, additional service-specific terms and, where required, an individually agreed client care letter apply.
1. Permitted use
You may read the Website and save or print individual pages for your own lawful, non-commercial reference. You must not use it unlawfully, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, scrape it systematically or circumvent technical protection, rate limits or access controls.
No right to copy our material into another website, paid service, AI training dataset, document bank or competing publication is granted by ordinary use of the Website. Requests for commercial licensing must be made in writing.
2. Information is not individual legal advice
The Website provides general information about immigration, nationality, visa routes, sponsor licensing, training and related services. It may simplify complex rules and cannot address every exception, transitional provision, evidential requirement or policy change. It is not tailored advice, a legal opinion or a guarantee that an application will be eligible or successful.
Do not make time-critical decisions or submit an application solely in reliance on a webpage. Immigration rules, administrative practice, government charges, processing arrangements and third-country law may change without notice. Consider official current guidance and obtain advice appropriate to your circumstances.
3. No adviser–client relationship through browsing
Reading pages, submitting a form, booking an initial call, requesting a quotation or exchanging preliminary messages does not automatically establish a regulated advisory retainer. An engagement begins only when we expressly accept the instructions and the applicable client care arrangements have been agreed. We may decline instructions lawfully, including because of conflicts, capacity, insufficient information or matters outside our authorised scope.
4. Regulated immigration services and limitations
We provide regulated UK immigration advice only through appropriately authorised persons and only within the Firm’s current IAA authorisation, level and categories. Our Website may discuss routes outside that scope for general education. Publication of a topic does not mean that the Firm can accept every case or undertake tribunal representation, litigation or other reserved work. If necessary, we may suggest a separate appropriately authorised professional.
We are not the UK Home Office, UK Visas and Immigration, the Immigration Advice Authority, a government department, an embassy or an endorsement body. We do not determine the outcome of government decisions. Unless separately and accurately stated, membership of an association does not itself confer regulatory permission or government endorsement.
5. Accuracy, availability and changes
We aim to exercise reasonable care in preparing content but do not promise uninterrupted access, error-free operation or real-time completeness. We may correct, replace, remove, reorganise or restrict Website content and functions where reasonably necessary. Dates, course places, prices and descriptions on individual service pages must be checked against the final checkout and written confirmation. Where a binding contract has already been made, we will not use this clause to vary its essential terms unfairly.
6. Enquiries, forms and uploads
Do not submit fabricated or unlawfully obtained documents, content that infringes rights, or malicious files. Unless and until we establish a secure channel and agree to receive sensitive evidence, avoid including detailed medical information, criminal records, complete bank details or identity-document scans in open enquiry forms.
We may reasonably decline to process irrelevant or unsafe submissions. We will handle information actually received in accordance with our Privacy Policy and our professional confidentiality duties where applicable.
7. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise indicated, copyright and other intellectual property rights in the Website’s original text, structure, logos, graphics, course descriptions, documents, training materials, question banks and related designs belong to the Firm or its licensors. The Immigration Visa Expert trading name and distinctive branding must not be used in a way that suggests an affiliation, endorsement or partnership without written authority.
Links to legislation, GOV.UK materials and other third-party works do not confer ownership on us over such third-party material. All third-party rights are respected. Further detail appears in our Copyright and Intellectual Property Notice.
8. Fair dealing and automated access
You may link to the public homepage or a public article fairly, accurately and without implying that we approve of the linking site. Framing pages within another site, reproducing significant extracts, automated bulk extraction, mirror sites and resale of our editorial or training content require written permission, subject to lawful exceptions including those under copyright law.
9. Third-party websites and suppliers
Links to GOV.UK, IAA, overseas authorities, appointment providers, payment processors and other websites are provided for convenience and context. Those organisations control their own sites, information, accessibility, charges, privacy practices and decisions. We are not responsible for third-party conduct except to the extent liability arises from our own legal obligations or representations.
10. Website security
You are responsible for keeping your own devices, browser and accounts secure. If accounts are offered, keep credentials confidential and inform us promptly of suspected compromise. We may temporarily suspend an account or access where reasonably necessary for security, protection of users or compliance with law, taking account of contractual and statutory rights.
11. Commercial descriptions and No Win No Fee
Descriptions of professional fees, discounts, refunds or ‘100% No Win No Fee’ are subject to the specific written offer or fee terms identified at the time of engagement. No Win No Fee is not automatically available and applies only to an individually accepted, documented application and stage; it concerns the expressly covered professional fee, not all government or third-party charges.
The separate No Win No Fee Terms are incorporated only where a case-specific written acceptance notice expressly applies them. A Website headline alone does not give an applicant a contractual guarantee.
12. Testimonials, examples and results
Any case examples and testimonials are illustrative of individual experiences only. Circumstances and outcomes differ. Testimonials are not assurances of future results or statements about our success rate. We do not publish promotional immigration success-rate claims.
13. Our responsibility
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury resulting from negligence, or any other liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. Nothing removes your mandatory consumer rights or rights arising under IAA rules where applicable.
Subject to those protections, we are not responsible for losses arising solely from reliance on general Website information when no advice relationship exists, or from events beyond our reasonable control, to the extent permitted by law. Where we provide contracted services, the specific agreement and statutory duties, including reasonable care and skill, govern our responsibilities.
15. Complaints and regulatory transparency
The Firm provides a published Complaints Handling Procedure and Regulatory & Company Information notice. Complaints about regulated immigration advice may also be raised directly with the IAA. Complaints about processing of personal data may be made to us and, where applicable, the Information Commissioner’s Office.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections applicable where they live or of any statutory jurisdiction right. If one provision is unenforceable, remaining provisions continue to apply so far as lawful. We may revise these terms for future Website use; changes do not retrospectively alter a concluded service agreement.
